If during interview a candidate is identified as not having English as a first language a nominated manager must conduct an independent interview, either face to face or over the phone, to assess the candidate’s ability to hold a conversation in English The following form is to be used to record the responses from the potential new candidate where English has been identified as the candidate’s second language. The nominated Manager must be able to reach a clear understanding with the candidate on the questions and the candidate’s responses Record the candidate’s responses to each question and indicate if the conversation between the candidate and yourself was either “Clear & Understandable” or “Unclear or Misunderstood”.
